For Nov. 30: I'll have office hours this Wednesday

I'm sorry about Monday, but I'm fever-free so far and I think the best thing will be for me to be in my office, GAB 101B, instead of the classroom tomorrow. What does that mean for you? Well, it means that if you have questions about your projects, I'll be there during our class time to meet with you. Just drop by starting at 11 a.m., through noon, Wednesday, Nov. 30. You do not need to visit with me, but if you haven't gotten a good start on defining your topic and the scope of your project, I'll be there to help you. My office is on the bottom floor, or basement, of the GAB, on the side of the building near the large windows with outside stairs. Look for it behind the large trophy/display case.

Then, we'll meet in class as usual, both days next week, on Monday and Wednesday, Dec. 5 and 7. If I don't see you tomorrow, I'll see you next week. We'll be discussing discourse and conversation analysis, which is our last method to explore. From the wonders on daytime television, I have an example we can scrutinize, since I know that some of you are interested in the analysis of talk shows, through the prism of race or gender. And of course, we'll talk about your projects if needed and wrap up the course. Those two days will be our last to meet.

Best to all of you--Jacque

Jacque had planned on conducting class on Monday but is running a fever and won't be able to get to class. She'll try to make it up on Wednesday, and will let you know by Tuesday evening. Sorry for the short notice.

Class on Mondays: Nov. 28 and Dec. 5

I'll see you on both of the upcoming Mondays, when we'll finish talking about your final projects and wrap up the semester.

See you Monday, Nov. 14

I'll look forward to seeing you Nov. 14 and 16, when we'll spend some time watching TV shows with gender and/or race issues and working toward your final projects. Come on Monday to hear some good news for you.

We'll meet on Monday, Nov. 7

Looks like we'll be meeting on Monday, Nov. 7. I'm coming out of a fog and will be ready to talk about your final assignment and other housekeeping matters. We will not meet on Wednesday, Nov. 9, but will plan to meet both days on that following week: Monday, Nov. 14, and Wednesday, Nov. 16. I look forward to seeing you.
