Twitter, beyond Amazon to Dominoes Pizza

If you're following the top topics on Twitter, then you'll already be aware of the Dominoes Pizza fiasco, with the YouTube video. Here's the AdAge followup, in two articles:

This last article focuses on the PR disaster of a slow response, again. This week proves that you need those online listening tools, so that you know what is being said about your brand.

Followup info on Amazon's lapse in response

Again, we won't be meeting Wednesday this week--it's a research day.

Here's a link to a story about Amazon's failure to follow news about itself in Twitter, where it was the No. 1 story on Monday (we talked about it in class).

No class meeting on Wednesday, April 15

We'll not meet again until Monday, April 20, when Charley Wilson, who's an alum and with American Airlines, will join us. We'll start talking about corporate ethics, taking our theoretical discussions into the boardroom and executive suite. On April 22, we'll start the Enron DVD.

Wednesday, April 15, is a research day for your final project. It's a chance for you to determine for sure that you can gather enough information for your project, without needing to change topics.

Another use for Twitter: Fictional characters

From a colleague, a blurb from AdAge:

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- In the wake of her high-profile promotion of the AMC series "Mad Men" on Twitter, Carri Bugbee is building a Twitter-based ad agency for entertainment clients. In February, the first Knight Foundation-backed Shorty Awards honored Ms. Bugbee's "Mad Men" character tweets as the year's best Twitter advertising campaign. In this nine-minute video interview, she discusses the details of how she did it as well as how she's working to parlay that success into an expansion of her 15-year-old PR business.
